Atletico failed to score a goal for the first in the league this season, losing a dour game
to a goal in each half for Littleton.
In a largely uninspiring match, Littleton made the best of their tactics and stuck to a game
plan that prevented Hinckley from creating many chances, indeed AFC registering only a couple
of shots on target each half. Littleton's very experienced and organised back line of Simon
Fitter and David Edwards marshalled Hinckley's Steve Hart and Luke Richards keeping the both
frustrated throughout the evening. The Ton Boys took the lead on the half hour when a deep
cross from the left found Steve Roche unmarked on the right hand post to head past Carl
O'Neill. They doubled their lead 5 minutes into the second half when AFC couldn't clear their
lines from a corner, and Robbie Bunn on the edge of the area, deftly chipped a ball over O'Neill,
weighted perfectly to drop into goal. Hinckley huffed and puffed for the rest of the half, but
couldn't break down the now packed Littleton defence to create anything clear cut, and the Ton
Boys held on comfortably for the win.
