Atletico were not at their best, but scored their chances when they came, to win against
Paget Rangers who were reduced to 10 men in the first half.
The opening stages were even in possession between the sides but Paget created the better chances,
notably efforts from Troy Baker and David Franklin both forcing Haydn Whitcombe into diving saves.
AFC replied through George Bowerman as Josh Benton got a touch to his goal bound shot and Richard
Munday headed against the bar from a corner. Paget were winning the midfield battle and just beginning
to get a grip on the game when AFC took the lead 10 minutes before half time when a through ball
into the area was beyond Bowerman, but as it was half cleared, struck the Hinckley forward and
rebounded past Benton trickling into the goal off the post. Once Paget had lost the lead, they
completely lost all discipline as Kousseba-Bakala struck Sam Agar in an off the ball incident
seen by the linesman and the referee had no choice but show the Bears centre back a straight
red card.
With a man advantage Hinckley were expected to push on and this they did after half time extending
the lead on the hour mark when a Lee Butler corner was guided to the back post by Munday for Agar
to draw the defender and keeper and then square the ball to Jake Healy in the centre to blast
into the open goal. As AFC enjoyed more possession more chances were created with Bowerman hitting
the woodwork and then Munday having his headed goal ruled out for offside. Paget were by no means
out of the game and their best player on the day substitute Daniel Carter used his pace to connect
with a lovely through ball and as Whitcombe came out of goal lifted it over the AFC keeper to reduce
the deficit. Almost immediately after Bowerman was through one on one but hauled down from behind
and a penalty was awarded, taken by Agar the ball hit the crossbar, and even though video showed
the ball seemed to crossed the line, in real time it was too close to call and the ball was
cleared, no goal given. No matter though as minutes later Bowerman did score Hinckley's third,
running the left channel he raced onto a through ball, took the ball around the defender and
keeper slotting into goal from a tight angle. As AFC looked for a fourth, Butler hit the bar and Joe
Haines fired into the side netting when well placed, but settled for three goals and three points
having to dig out a victory against a dogged side.
