Atletico put away their buckets and spades and got back into winning ways with Javia Roberts
helping himself to 4 goals, in an excellent all round team performance putting 6 goals past
Pelsall.
Roberts will take the plaudits for his 12 minute first half hatrick, but it was really an
all round team effort, with Pelsall facing the back-lash for the previous performance against
Chelmsley. It was all AFC right from kick off, and 3 minutes in Chad Degville-Cross playing
in an attacking role is more familiar with fired goalwards from the edge of the area, the ball
just drifting wide. Then 10 minutes in Hinckley had the ball in the net when a clearance hit
Ryan Seal and took the ball goal wards, but as it bounced over the line the referee judged that
Roberts standing in the goal area was 'active' and the goal ruled out for an offside. Not to
worry, a further 10 minutes in and AFC did take the lead, opening the floodgate for a rush
of goals. A Seal corner was cleared, but only as far as Andy Westwood who's diagonal pass
freed Sam Agar onside and he fired across the keeper into goal. 2 minutes later and the lead
was doubled, Agar turning provider with some excellent work wide left holding off two defenders
then powering into the area crossing low for Roberts to simply tap his first goal into the
net from close in. On the half hour Roberts scored his second when Agar held up a free kick,
back to goal, playing the ball square to Roberts on the edge of the area who placed his shot
beyond the stranded Joe Williams. Lee Butler thought he had scored Hinckley's fourth when he
curled a 25 yard effort around Williams, but the ball rebounded off the inside of the post and
away to safety. The fourth was scored moments later though and Roberts completed his hatrick
in 12 minutes, again Agar providing the assist from a left wing cross to Roberts in acres of
space, to head into goal. Pelsall did get a goal back just before half time when Josh Small
managed to avoid a couple of tackles in the area and squeeze the ball past Haydn Whitcombe.
With AFC kicking up the slope second half chances were fewer, but Pesall equally didn't capitalise
on kicking down the slope. Small and Tom Green made Whitcombe make regulation saves and Daniel
Scragg fired in a 25 yard free kick straight at the AFC keeper, whilst at the other end
Agar was played through by Degville-Cross, but wasted the opportunity. The game burst back into
life for the last 10 minutes, when Roberts scored his fourth of the game being played in
one-on-one with a perfectly timed pass from Andy Westwood and Roberts made no mistake from
15 yards out. Then to add a little gloss Lee Thomas saw his long range effort just tipped
over the bar and from the corner Francino Francis scored his first goal for Hinckley heading
the ball over the keeper and covering defender on the line, making it six goals for AFC.
