Atletico were knocked out of their second cup competition in as many days losing again
to a MFL Premier side as Leicestershire rivals Shepshed win at Stade de St John.
Being a level higher Shepshed were expected to be the better side and they showed this
from the kick off with a solid back line thwarting most of Hinckley's attacking moves.
It was an uphill task for AFC from the 6th minute as Shepshed took the lead, when
uncertainty in the AFC defence left Michael Reeve unmarked to head past Sam Arnold.
Hinckley struggled to break down a solid 2 banks of four from Shepshed, but just after
the half time a neat move between Darious Darkin and Ryan Seal, saw Seal one on one
with Steve Morse and slotted the ball past the Dynamo keeper to equalise. Arnold was
the busier of the two keepers second half, but was very unlucky with 15 minutes left
when a wide free kick was played to the near post, and the ball hit Daniel Chapman and
diverted into the net, giving Shepshed the lead again. Luke Richards had one final chance
for Hinckley though his effort came back off the post, and the follow up was hit onto the
bar and Shepshed cleared to ensure their passage into the next round.
