Captain Luke Richards marked his half century of appearances for AFC with a delightful
chipped goal, that set Hinckley on their way to a victory, with further goals added by
Marco Adaggio, Nathan Walker and Ryan Seal.
Sean Williams was first to go for goal early on when his shot from the left of the area
flashed wide of the post. Then on 20 minutes Luke Richards received the ball wide on
the right before coming inside to the corner of the area and unleashed a 20 yard shot
that was weighted perfectly to drop over Andy Yarnold who was only a couple of yards
off his line. Unfortunately Richards game was cut short before half time having to go
off with a hamstring strain.
AFC stepped up a gear after half time and Liam Smith from the unusual position of left
wing, turned inside and saw his effort beat Yarnold, but come back off the post. 10 minutes
into the half Seal played Adaggio through the middle and as Yarnold came out of goal,
Adaggio lifted the ball over the Pershore keeper dropping into the net to make it 0-2.
Walker then added to the score with one of his trade mark free kicks, however with the
ball headed for the right corner, it took a big deflection and went into the net at the
left corner leaving Yarnold stranded. Seal, put the, erm, seal on the points with 20
minutes remaining combining with Rico Taylor, then running one on one with Yarnold
slotting past the keeper to make it four. Pershore never gave up though, and got a
consolation goal right on time with a right wing cross finding Jacob Snape unmarked in
the area who's diving header beat Tom Cross in the Hinckley goal.
