Atletico negotiated the first round of the League Cup, comfortably beating a second string
Coventry United, with Jordan Nadat scoring two goals and Marco Adaggio and Deqwon Ebanks
helping themselves to the other two.
From the moment the teams were announced and it was evident Coventry would not be playing a
first choice side, it was clearly going to be one way traffic and so it proved to be.
AFC were ahead on 10 minutes when Nadat was played through on goal and slotted under the keeper
from 10 yards out. Nadat added to his goal tally on the half hour after excellent work
from Javia Roberts on the right, who cut inside beat two defenders and laid the ball up for
Nadat to blast into the net from close range.
Coventry had a rare chance shortly into the second half when former Hinckley United forward
Leon Kelly was one on one with Jack Hartopp, but the AFC keeper was equal to Kelly's shot.
On the hour, it was 3 for Hinckley as Adaggio glanced home a header from Luke Richards
corner, before substitute Sean Willam's solo run ended with his shot coming back off the bar.
Finally another substitute Deqwon Ebanks scored his first goal for the club when he was played
in through the centre and finished from 14 yards.
Atletico will now go on to play either Loughborough University or Shepshed Dynamo, at home,
with no date yet set as their 1st round tie is scheduled for 29th September.
