An amazing comeback in injury time saw Atletico claw back a 2 goal defecit to maintain
their unbeaten run drawing 3-3 at Bolehall, when looking out of the game.
Bolehall had been the better team on the night and their physical approach had set up
Hinckley to take the fall, which they duly obliged, as Bolehall took advantage as AFC
completely lost their focus and shape on the night. Bolehall were ahead as early as the
4th minute when Dom Smith fouled Dave Yonwin, and the Swifts striker took the penalty
himself to open the scoring. Scott Goodby and Chris Cowley both had good chances to
increase their lead before AFC equalised. Ross Clarke played Marco Adaggio through the
middle and as he raced into the area Hinckley's leading scorer chipped the ball over
Paul Hathaway, who cynically then fouled Adaggio for which he received a yellow card,
but the ball dropped into the goal equalising for Hinckley. Parity was only short lived
as Yonwin showed why he is one the league's top scorers, dancing around the Hinckley
defence and sloting past Arnold from a tight angle. Then minutes before half time a Swifts
break away caught the Hinckley defence square and Adam Goodby blasted into the roof of
the net giving Bolehall what looked a very good 3-1 lead.
Nathan Walker wasted a good chance for Hinckley at the start of the second half, but mainly
it was a case of Bolehall content to defend in numbers and protect their well earned lead.
Athletico had plenty of possession but couldn't break down the now packed Swifts defence and
as full time approached Bolehall were looking to take the ball into the corners and run out
time any way they could. Ultimately that back fired on Bolehall as the ref added on the
minutes wasted and urged on by the traveling support Hinckley mounted a furious last assault.
Rob Millington forced Hathaway into a diving save then as the game moved into injury time
Millington again saw a shot blocked that fell to Luke Richards on the left of the area who
drilled across Hathaway into the far corner. Almost straight from kick off Richards won a
free kick on the left of the area, which saw Sam Arnold leave his goal to join in the
attack, and Clarke played the ball into the now very packed area, through a crowd of players
Arnold got a touch which took the ball goalwards and Adaggio forced the ball into the net
from close range. Cue scenes of bedlam from the traveling support and as the ref blew the
final whistle the Hinckley players and fans joined as one to celebrate an amazing comeback.
