Hinckley AFC stopped the rot and got a moral boosting victory over Houghton Rangers
in the Leicestershire Senior Cup. A comfortable score line that could've been even better had it not been for a hatrick of disallowed goals for Mark Bellingham, and Bellingham himself pulled off a great goal line clearance only that it prevented JJ Melligan scoring for AFC! After some pressure in the first half, Hinckley did eventually take the lead after the half hour, Melligan ran into the box and was brought down resulting in a penalty, which Melligan himself converted. Young midfielders Dominic Oliver and Ryan Taylor were introduced in the second half and this added a bit of impetuous for Athletico, who were comfortably in control. Bellingham did finally have a goal ruled acceptable after having 3 efforts ruled out for offside twice and handball, and Oliver and Taylor combined well to cap off a good display, Taylor running onto Olivers through ball to slot under the keeper making it 3-0 on the night. click here for: Houghton Rangers match details |
